Job Summary

Teach instrumental and choral group classes to students from Pre-K through 12th grade, meeting for one hour, three to four days per week. Deliver lessons in accordance with the OrchKids curriculum and educational philosophy, following the lesson plan outline provided by the students' primary teacher. Serve as a compassionate mentor while holding students to high artistic standards to cultivate both technical and ensemble skills. Supervise students during transitions and breaktime, maintaining professional lines of communication with staff. Arrive at the scheduled site on time and embrace the mission of guiding musical development through student-centered learning.

Required Qualifications

  • Passion for working with youth and desire to serve as a role model to students
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Completed Background Check from Baltimore City Schools
  • Considerable experience teaching beginner – intermediate level music students, preferably in a group setting
  • In-depth knowledge of instrument specific pedagogy and repertoire
  • Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively
  • Punctuality, professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills
  • It is required that employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination as a condition of employment
