Job Summary
Orchard Manager responsible for day-to-day management of large-scale orchard operations in Dillsburg, PA area. Lead and coordinate planting, irrigation, spraying, fertilizing, pruning, mowing, and harvesting; oversee pest and disease monitoring, nutrient management, and pesticide programs; maintain pesticide and nutrient records; supervise staff and ensure safe work practices; participate in safety and food-safety initiatives; required to travel between orchard properties, operate with field supervisors, and participate in ongoing learning. Competitive salary DOE with bonus and full benefits; housing/vehicle provided.
Required Qualifications
- Must have documented prior experience of at least five years in orchard management and operations
- Extensive horticultural experience in commercial orchard production preferred
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in and read English; Spanish preferred
- Must be able to regularly work Monday through Friday and some weekends; on-call availability as seasonal needs demand
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
- Must be able to plan ahead and balance multiple tasks
- Must be able to create and maintain accurate records (e.g. pesticide application records)
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license
- Must have or be able to obtain a PA Private Pesticide Applicator license
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
- Experience with PrimusGFS, USDA GAP preferred
