Orchard Hands

Casual Senior Orchard Hand role in NSW, Australia within a citrus operations team. Responsibilities span tractor operations (slashing, mulching, spraying), general machinery maintenance, pest and disease monitoring reporting to a supervisor, irrigation repairs, tree maintenance, stock takes and inventory, loading/unloading trucks, and supporting harvest teams in the field (not fruit-picking). The position emphasizes hands-on, outdoor work with regular physical activity and opportunities for progression to permanent roles. The candidate must be comfortable operating tractors with various implements, working safely among trees and irrigation infrastructure, and able to follow detailed instructions. Training is provided; general hours are Monday to Friday with some weekend work during busy seasons. The pay scales per the Horticulture Award 2020 start at Level 3 ($32.04/hr) for casual positions. Applicants must have Australian work rights (no sponsorship), a valid driver’s license, forklift licence, and AgChem Certification (or willingness to obtain).
