Job Summary
Perform manual GTAW (TIG) welding and semi-automatic orbital welding on stainless steel tubing and gas delivery system components. Prepare materials for fabrication by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and aligning components prior to welding. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and manufacturing documentation to position and assemble components according to design specifications. Inspect completed welds, identify defects, and verify finished products meet quality standards. Complete production records, maintain accurate manufacturing documentation, and uphold a clean, organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles. Support overtime requirements as needed to meet production demands.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performing GTAW (TIG) welding on stainless steel
- Ability to successfully complete a hands-on TIG welding qualification test
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, sit, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, fabrication, or mechanical assembly environment
- Experience with orbital welding equipment is preferred
- Fabrication experience, including fitting and preparing materials for welding, is highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce high-quality, repeatable welds
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision work
