Job Summary
Oral Surgery Technician provides clinical support and operating room assistance under a dentist/physician, preparing instruments and aiding in surgical procedures, maintaining sterility, obtaining dental radiographs/impressions, patient care including vital signs, and coordinating with internal departments for insurance authorizations and fee estimates. The role supports infection control, readiness for procedures, IV therapy as ordered, and adheres to clinical standards, quality and safety initiatives, with expected regular attendance in a hospital/clinical setting.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a technical program in a healthcare field or a minimum of three years of experience working as a dental assistant
- Experience in a surgical setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire, or within three-months of employment
- Preferred Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification from the AAOMS (American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons)
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
