Job Summary
Oral Surgery Dental Assistant needed in Paramus, NJ to support surgeons and clinical team in a fast-paced oral surgery practice. Responsibilities include assisting during oral surgery procedures (extractions, implants, bone grafts), preparing patients and reviewing medical histories, monitoring vital signs during procedures and sedation, supporting anesthesia setup and patient recovery, sterilizing instruments and operatories, following infection control and OSHA protocols, taking dental radiographs and assisting with imaging (pan/CBCT preferred), maintaining accurate charting and clinical documentation, providing pre- and post-op instructions, and collaborating to ensure efficient patient flow.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of dental assisting experience (oral surgery preferred)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Radiology X-ray License
- Experience with sedation cases or willingness to learn
- NJ Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or CDA certification is a plus
- Experience with implants and full-arch cases is beneficial
- Familiarity with surgical workflows and digital charting
