Job Summary
Assist oral surgeons during procedures including extractions, wisdom tooth removal, implant placement, and bone grafting. Prepare and break down operatories, maintain sterilization standards, and ensure all instruments and supplies are ready. Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing medical history and vital signs, then provide pre- and post-operative instructions while monitoring them during recovery. Take and process diagnostic images, accurately chart procedures, and update patient records with treatment plans and imaging. Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines while maintaining CPR/BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of clinical experience in a dental or medical setting
- CPR/BLS certification
- willingness to obtain CPR/BLS certification
- Strong understanding of infection control and patient care standards
- Familiarity with dental or medical software (e.g., Dentrix or similar systems)
Desired Qualifications
- Dental Assistants preferred
- Medical Assistants strongly encouraged to apply
- Oral surgery or surgical assisting experience
- Exposure to IV sedation monitoring
- Exposure to Implant procedures
- Exposure to Bone grafting cases
- Experience working with specialty referrals (oral surgery, perio, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills
- Quick thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities
