Job Summary
Consult with patients to discuss treatment options, analyze data to determine goals, and coordinate with specialists like restorative dentists and orthodontists for comprehensive care plans. Perform surgical procedures including tooth extractions, dental implants, tumor removal, and minor cosmetic enhancements such as chin and cheekbone work. Administer anesthetics, prescribe post-procedure medication, treat infections of the oral cavity and jaw, and provide emergency care for facial injuries. Maintain detailed records of appointments, tests, and treatments while conducting research on oral and facial disorders. Requires a DMD or DDS degree, oral surgeon licensure, and exceptional dexterity.
Required Qualifications
- experience working with various orofacial defects, such as cleft palates and cleft lips
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field
- Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree
- Licensed to practice as an Oral Surgeon
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Outstanding hand-eye coordination and dexterity
- Wonderful bedside manner
- Excellent communicator who can empathize with patients
- Flexible working hours
