Job Summary
Greet, seat, and dismiss patients while checking them in and performing preliminary treatment as directed. Assist doctors thoroughly with orthodontic procedures, delivering hygiene instructions using visual aids. Prepare and clean operatories, obtain patient records including photos and impressions, and properly record electronic chart entries. Maintain a clean, well-stocked clinic and ensure infection control and equipment maintenance meet industry standards. Work Monday through Friday at our Brooklyn practice. Certification is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Dental Assistant, licensed or in process of licensure by the State of New York
- Must possess knowledge of procedures/terminology and all related instruments and equipment
- Must be able to provide infection control/sterilization in accordance with industry standards
- Must possess a general knowledge of dental equipment maintenance
- Must possess a general knowledge of electronic patient record use and associated computer skills
- Must maintain a healthy lifestyle
- Must have good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Must have excellent vision and hearing
- Must be in good physical shape to withstand frequent bending, stooping, leaning, sitting, and walking
Desired Qualifications
- Certification is a plus
- Must be able to deliver orthodontic and oral hygiene instructions clearly and thoroughly with the use of visual aids
