Job Summary
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in the U.S. Army health care team providing examination, diagnosis and care for Soldiers and their families, with opportunities to research military-relevant diseases, participate in medical education, command medical units, conduct patient care and health promotion programs, and perform special staff functions in health support; includes benefits such as education loan repayment, potential accession bonus, no-cost or low-cost medical and dental care, 30 days of paid vacation, commissary/shopping privileges, Uniformed Services Blended Retirement System, specialized leadership training, and humanitarian mission opportunities. Must hold a DDS/DMD (or DDS/MD combination) from an ADA-accredited program, complete an ADA-accredited OMFS specialty program, be a U.S. citizen, and be 21–42 years old (waiver may be requested).
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or combination DDS/MD from ADA-accredited dental program in the United States/ DC/ Puerto Rico or Canada
- Completion of ADA-accredited advanced specialty education program in OMFS
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (waiver possible)
- License to practice dentistry
- U.S. citizen
