Job Summary
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMS) role within the VA health system emphasizing diagnosis, surgical treatment, and management of diseases and conditions of the oral and maxillofacial region for veteran patients. Core duties include evaluating and diagnosing conditions of the mouth, jaws, face, and neck; performing surgical procedures such as extractions (including impacted wisdom teeth), management of maxillofacial trauma, treatment of oral pathology including tumors and cysts, and pre-prosthetic surgery for dental rehabilitation. Collaborates with ENT, oncology, prosthodontics, and anesthesiology to provide multidisciplinary care; documents encounters in the VA EHR; participates in credentialing, quality assurance, and compliance activities; provides education and supervision to dental residents and medical students; contributes to continuing medical/dental education; addresses veteran-specific needs including complex medical comorbidities and PTSD; provides emergency and on-call coverage; work schedule is Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm; location listed as Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
