Job Summary

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon role within the VA system responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and defects of the oral and maxillofacial region. Performs surgical procedures including extractions (including impacted wisdom teeth), management of maxillofacial trauma, treatment of oral pathology, and pre-prosthetic surgery for dental rehabilitation. Collaborates with ENT, oncology, prosthodontics, and anesthesiology to provide comprehensive veteran care. Maintains accurate EHR documentation, participates in department credentialing and quality assurance, and contributes to education of dental residents, medical students, and staff. Involves veteran-centric care considerations (including trauma history/PTSD) and emergency/on-call coverage. Education/continuing medical education to maintain surgical competencies. Schedule is Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm. Location: Fontana, CA (US) within the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System.

Required Qualifications

  • DMD/DDS or equivalent
  • Board-certified or eligible in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • VA/federal employment eligibility preferred
