Job Summary
Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator needed to design, implement, and optimize the PeopleSoft database to support enterprise HR systems. Responsibilities include installing/configuring/patching/upgrading Oracle DB across AWS RDS environments, performing SQL tuning and proactive performance monitoring, ensuring high availability and reliability with automated monitoring and health checks, developing robust RMAN-based backup and cross-region recovery, enforcing security (user access, encryption, auditing, compliance), troubleshooting cross-tier performance issues, documenting processes and runbooks, and automating tasks with shell scripting, Python, SQL automation, Lambda, and Step Functions. Travel up to 10% is expected; U.S. citizenship and DoD Secret clearance required; bachelor’s degree and Security+ CE or equivalent credential; 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience with PeopleSoft/PeopleTools familiarity preferred. Fully remote position available to residents in the listed US states; contract role.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Security+ CE (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of Oracle DBA experience
- Strong SQL/PL-SQL and scripting skills (Bash or Python)
- Experience with AWS RDS and monitoring tools (CloudWatch)
- PeopleSoft/PeopleTools experience (preferred)
