ORA Sr. Manager, Research Administration (Post Award)

Job Summary
Oversee post-award activities for federal, state, and private grants, managing award setup, budgeting, expense review, effort reporting, reconciliations, closeouts, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with sponsor terms, federal regulations, and university policies while serving as the subject matter expert for funding agency guidelines. Recruit, train, and mentor staff to develop talent, monitor team performance metrics, and resolve conflicts between Principal Investigators and team members. Develop internal operating procedures, assist with annual audit reports, and coordinate strategic improvements to support the University's research goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Minimum 7 years of Sponsored Programs Administration or related field
- Knowledge of business and management principles
- Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations
- Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan
- Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal regulations related to Research Administration, including the Uniform Guidance, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and major Federal funding agency guidelines
- Ability to recruit, train and lead a staff to new and changing Sponsored Programs initiatives
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in relevant field
- Certification and Licensing: Successful completion of Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Research Administrator, or Certified Research Administrator status or equivalent designation
- University Research Administration experience
