OR Tech, Part Time Variable

Prepare, set up, and assist on various surgical procedures while maintaining sterility of the surgical field and equipment throughout. Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize instruments as necessary, and verify equipment functions properly before procedures begin. Collaborate with the circulating nurse to ensure accuracy of sponge, needle, and instrument counts and identification of surgical specimens. Communicate all necessary information to the Circulating Nurse and/or Operating Room Clinical Supervisor in a timely manner, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and prioritizing responsibilities under pressure. This part-time variable role supports the Mission of Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Healthcare and aligns with the Watson Model of Care.
