Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in assisting the surgical team by managing instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures while maintaining a sterile field. Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms, assisting during surgeries, demonstrating advanced skills across various specialties, and mentoring new staff. Candidates must have substantial experience in surgical technology and meet specific educational and certification criteria.
Required Qualifications
- 3 or more years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Graduated from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program and certification within 12 months of graduation
- Graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing
- Proof of at least one year of employment as a Surgical Technologist between December 31, 2010, and December 31, 2014
- Certification through a nationally accredited Surgical Technologist credentialing organization required within 24 months after employment and degree from an accredited program
- Completed a military surgical technology program
