Job Summary
Scrub for robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma service lines under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Collaborate with surgeons and RNs to deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery while making calls and multitasking independently. Requires Certified Surgical Technician and NBSTSA certification, plus current BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Works 11:00 am to 7:00 pm full time with alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage at RWJBarnabas Health, the premier academic health system in New Jersey.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Surgical Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- 11:00 am – 7:00 pm shift
- Full Time employment
- Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
