Job Summary
Conduct surgical support under the direction of a Registered Nurse, scrubbing cases across robotics, vascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, and trauma service lines. Coordinate with surgeons and RNs to deliver patient care before, during, and after procedures while making necessary calls and managing independent tasks. Maintain Certified Surgical Technician and NBSTSA certifications alongside current BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Work full-time shifts from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm with alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage at Jersey City Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Surgical Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Availability for 11:00 am – 7:00 pm shift
- Availability for alternating weekends
- Availability for holidays
