Job Summary
Conduct preoperative and intraoperative tasks under the direction of a Registered Nurse, scrubbing for robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, and trauma cases. Deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery while making calls and multitasking independently. Maintain Certified Surgical Technician and NBSTSA certifications, plus current BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Work the 11:00 am to 7:00 pm midshift with alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage as part of the full-time surgical team at RWJBarnabas Health.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Surgical Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- 11:00 am – 7:00 pm shift
- Full Time employment
- Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
