Job Summary
Assist the registered nurse in surgical patient care by performing scrub duties, maintaining sterile fields, and acting as a third person to assist with retraction and equipment. Acquire supplies, verify patient identity and procedure, and perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts. Manage equipment by inspecting packs, assembling sets, checking sterilization logs, and performing decontamination and flash sterilization. Collaborate with the circulating RN and surgeon to ensure safety and privacy while documenting counts and charge items. Maintain inventory, organize supplies, and participate in quality assurance and educational activities. This full-time role includes a 36-hour flexible schedule and a $5K sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.
Required Qualifications
- Must have successfully completed an accredited O.R. Tech program
- Certified Surgical Technologist is required
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field
- Must have CPR W/BLS certification
- State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist is Required
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and instruments
- Extended standing and walking
- occasional heavy lifting
- manual dexterity required
- Attention to detail for sterilization purposes
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers
