Job Summary
OR/Sterile Processing Technician for NYC/Elmhurst location responsible for pre-operative setup, intra-operative support, post-operative turnover, instrument/decontamination and sterilization, instrument management, and maintaining surgeon preference cards. Must understand surgical procedures, anticipate staff needs, verify equipment functionality, manage supply needs, and support on-call rotational shifts. Requires on-site, 24/7 availability; strong communication, ability to work under high-stress conditions, and adherence to PPE and safety protocols. Education required: high school diploma or GED; CRCST or Surgical Technician certification preferred with 120 days to obtain. Experience: 2–5 years of face-to-face customer service; availability for 24/7 hospital coverage; COVID-19 vaccination required.
