Job Summary
As an OR Service Assistant at the Strongsville Family Health and Surgery Center, you will transport patients, prepare the operating room for procedures, and support perioperative care. You will maintain surgical instrument sets, ensure proper sterile conditions, assist surgeons with basic tasks (holding limbs/retractors, suctioning, sponging wounds), clean instruments after surgery, manage supplies and storage in the OR, and assist in transporting patients while helping maintain a safe environment for the patient and team. This role provides hands-on experience with instrument tracking, sterilization processes, and collaboration with RN and surgical staff in a high-tech, patient-centered surgical environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Sterile Processing Certification
- Two years of experience in sterile processing
- Prior experience working in an OR setting or with direct patient care experience
- Physical requirements: lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling carts up to 200 pounds, standing/walking for long periods, good vision and hearing, ability to work irregular hours, exposure to bodily fluids and infectious diseases; PPE usage
