Job Summary
Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures and maintaining a sterile field; help position patients, sterilize and hand instruments to the surgical team, transport patients to and from the OR, and keep the OR clean and organized while adhering to infection control and safety protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient care; requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to follow hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a surgical technologist or operating room assistant is preferred
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to adhere to hospital policies and protocols
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus
