Job Summary
Conduct in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans by performing thorough eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT), and reviewing electronic medical records via a secure web portal. Accurately document exam findings and complete required VA forms without involvement in treatment, medication prescribing, or disability determinations. Schedule one day per week with a caseload of 4-6 Veterans, utilizing provided equipment for documentation. This structured role supports the Veteran community through focused medical assessments within the VA's disability benefits process.
Required Qualifications
- Holds an active & unrestricted Optometry license
- Proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT)
- Comfortable using technology to review records and complete documentation
