Optometrist

Optometrist position at SNHS requiring Doctor of Optometry and NY licensure, with 5+ years of experience. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing and treating ocular diseases, providing refraction and analysis of refractive conditions, prescribing and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, dilated fundus exams, disease monitoring, emergency eye care, patient education, and supervising Optical Unit staff. Also involves coordination with ophthalmologic and medical specialists, maintaining patient records per HIPAA, and contributing to high-quality patient care within a hospital/outpatient setting. Strong interpersonal skills, patient-centered care, and knowledge of optometry best practices are essential; licensure and credentials must be maintained throughout employment.
