Job Summary
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Optometrist provides direct optometric services to customer-owners within the Optometry program. Responsibilities include performing eye examinations, diagnosing visual disorders, and prescribing corrective lenses. Mandatory qualifications include a current Alaska optometry license with relevant endorsements, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current Alaska license to practice optometry including diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical endorsement
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Meets all requirements in order to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges of service
Additional Requirements
- Native Preference under P.L. 93-638, as amended
- Compliance with Employee Health procedure required, including specific immunizations and COVID19 vaccination
