Job Summary
Optometrist needed to perform in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA disability benefits process. Conduct comprehensive eye exams including Visual Field Testing, review electronic medical records via a secure web portal, and accurately document exam findings and required VA forms. Role is non-treating with no prescribing responsibilities; disability determinations are made by the VA. Schedule is 1 day per week with a caseload of 4-6 Veterans per day; equipment and tools for documentation are provided; training and malpractice insurance are included; no on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Active & unrestricted Optometry license
- Proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT)
- Comfortable using technology to review records and complete documentation
