Job Summary
Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients seen daily, with an estimated volume of 20 per day. Collaborate with physicians on chronic illness care and refer patients to IHS providers or PRC vendors per guidelines. Document all encounters in the electronic medical record system, completing required administrative paperwork and risk management reviews within 24 hours of visits. Provide on-site optometry services while coordinating patient care across IHS departments and offering rotational on-call coverage for emergency department ocular emergencies. Work part-time, three days a week from 8am to 5pm.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry
- Permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice Optometry in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- Active BLS certification
- 2 years of post-graduate experience
