Job Summary
Optometrist or Ophthalmologist needed for VA disability assessment role in Midway Park, NC. Conduct in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans, review electronic medical records via a secure web portal, and perform comprehensive eye exams including Visual Field Testing (VFT). Accurately document exam findings and complete required VA forms. This non-treating, non-determination position does not involve treatment or prescribing medications; disability determinations are made by the VA. Part-time schedule (3-4 days/week), in-person, with a caseload of 4-6 Veterans per day. Equipment and tools for documentation provided.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license
- Proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT)
- Experience reviewing electronic medical records via secure web portal
- Ability to perform in-person eye exams
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in electronic documentation and web-based portals
