Job Summary
Conduct in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans by performing thorough eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT), and reviewing electronic medical records via a secure web portal. Accurately document exam findings and complete required VA forms without involvement in treatment or medication prescribing. This non-treating, non-determination role supports the Veteran community through structured medical evaluations, with a caseload of 4-6 patients daily. The position offers a predictable PRN schedule of 1-2 days per month, no on-call duties, and includes malpractice insurance coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Holds an active & unrestricted Optometry license
- Proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT)
- Comfortable using technology to review records and complete documentation
