Job Summary
Conduct in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans by performing thorough eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT), and reviewing electronic medical records via a secure web portal. Accurately document exam findings and complete the required VA forms. This non-treating, non-determination role involves analyzing assessment data to support the disability benefits process, with a caseload of 4-6 Veterans per day. Schedule is PRN, 1-2 days per month, with no on-call duties. The employer provides all necessary equipment and covers malpractice insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Holds an active & unrestricted Optometry license
- Proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT)
- Comfortable using technology to review records and complete documentation
