Job Summary
Optometrist or Ophthalmologist needed to perform in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA disability benefits process. Conduct comprehensive eye exams including Visual Field Testing, review electronic medical records via a secure web portal, and accurately document exam findings and complete VA forms. Schedule is Part-Time (3-4 days/week) with a caseload of 4-6 Veterans per day. Equipment and tools for documentation provided. No on-call shifts. Training and ongoing support provided. Must hold an active & unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license; proficient in Visual Field Testing and electronic documentation. A compassionate, professional, and empathetic demeanor toward Veterans is required. Benefits include health insurance and 401K.
Required Qualifications
- Active & unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license
- Proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT)
- Proficient in electronic documentation and web-based portals
- Experience reviewing electronic medical records via secure web portal
- Ability to perform in-person eye exams and document findings
- Ability to complete VA forms and participate in disability assessments
- Part-Time schedule 3-4 days/week
- No on-call shifts
