Job Summary
The SCF Optometrist is responsible for providing direct optometric services to customer-owners. Key responsibilities include meeting medical staff membership requirements, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the cultures of Alaska Native people, and complying with employee health screening and immunizations. Candidates must possess a current Alaska license for optometry practice, meet specific medical staff requirements, and have BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within 60 days.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of Alaska Native people
- Meets all requirements in order to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges of service
- Compliance with Employee Health Procedure and completion of specified immunizations prior to first day of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Current Alaska license to practice optometry including diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical endorsement
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
