Job Summary
Optometrist (Part-Time) or full-time Independent Contractor opportunity providing optometry services at Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Syracuse, NY area. Responsibilities include performing routine eye exams, diagnosing and managing conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye; prescribing and adjusting eyeglasses; managing ophthalmic medications; documenting visits; coordinating care with nursing staff; and traveling between facilities as needed. Flexible schedule with session-based compensation ($30 per patient visit) and administrative/scheduling support. Requires OD degree and active license; 1099 contractor arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- Active state Optometry license
- Strong communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
