Job Summary
Diagnose and treat refractive and ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses for residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long-term care facilities. Examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures while identifying related systemic conditions. Enter patient information and complete required clinical documentation in the proprietary EMR system during mobile model treatment that requires daily travel to skilled nursing facilities. Provide general optometry services within an assigned territory with clinical autonomy, supported by a full administrative team and 100% malpractice coverage. No evening or weekend hours are required.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.)
- State professional license
- Valid driver's license
- TPA certified/Legend Drug Certificate
- Ability to work independently on a daily basis
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software
