Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive visual and ocular examinations for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatric, including pre- and post-operative evaluations for refractive surgery. Diagnose and treat systemic and ocular diseases while managing therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and medical contact lens cases. Monitor ophthalmic equipment maintenance and provide supervision, teaching, and guidance to interns, scholarship students, and technicians. Perform full-range optometric duties with emphasis on occupational health consultations and hazardous occupation screenings.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an educational program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE)
- Passing score on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NEBO) examinations
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- One year of professional experience as an optometrist which includes examining patients, diagnosing visual disorders and/or diseases, and identifying treatment
- One year completion of a residency program in an institution accredited for such training
