Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive eye exams, diagnose ocular diseases, and prescribe therapeutic medications to treat specific eye conditions. Manage pre- and post-operative care while developing treatment plans based on diagnostic test results. Serve as Center Director by strengthening relationships with referring optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure coordinated, high-quality surgical and medical eye care. Identify opportunities to improve internal clinic workflows, scheduling access, and referral coordination. Collaborate with clinical leadership and staff to maintain a trusted reputation within the community.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Optometry
- Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO)
- Licensed by the State of Texas
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution
- Meets all applicable state and federal requirements for prescribing therapeutic medications
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Ability to establish trust and build strong, long-term relationships with patients and healthcare providers
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Ophthalmologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ability and willingness to develop professional relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers in the community
- Ability to lead practice-level initiatives that improve referral coordination, provider communication, patient access, and the overall experience of patients and referring eye care providers
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Must maintain certification and/or licensure status
Desired Qualifications
- at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- added training in a refractive fellowship program
