Job Summary
Examine patients' eyes to diagnose eye diseases, systemic conditions, and vision disorders while prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and vision therapy. Manage daily workload to ensure timely completion of all responsibilities, including answering calls and emails with excellent customer service. Supervise optical staff to ensure accurate services and complete patient charts in the Electronic Health Record system. Communicate with management and fellow OD teams to optimize clinical care. Maintain all licensing requirements and comply with organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of accredited four-year post-graduate degree program to earn their Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)
- Successful completion of Optometry State Board examination to become licensed to practice in the State of California
- Ability to use computer for documentation of patient chart in Electronic Health Record system
- General computer/internet skills for email communications or other duties as assigned
