Job Summary
Provide comprehensive optometry care using IHS-supplied facilities, examining patients to develop treatment plans and recommendations. Refer patients to other IHS providers or purchased vendors per guidelines and advise the Clinical Director of care issues. Participate in quality assurance activities including chart reviews and respond to unexpected temporary coverage needs. Complete all administrative paperwork, such as electronic consultations and risk management reviews, within 24 hours of patient visits. Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department on an as-needed basis. This locum tenens role supports the Blackfeet Service Unit in Browning, MT, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and human dignity.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry
- Permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice Optometry in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- Active BLS certification
- 2 years minimum experience post-graduate in Optometry
Desired Qualifications
- (Preferred) Board Certified in Optometry
