Job Summary
Facilitate patient flow and assist the doctor in preliminary testing while verifying medical and vision insurances. Operate manual and auto-lensometers, autorefractors, retinal cameras, visual field devices, and OCT equipment following established scripting. Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers to answer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person requests. Clean examination equipment including tonometer tips and perform general office duties as assigned. Work full-time hours Monday through Saturday with availability for any shift within the 8am–5pm window.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all time
- Must have availability to work any shift within these hours
- Commitment to work hours that meet the needs of the business which may include weekends, schedule changes or an extended schedule
- Must be able to effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Excitement to learn and grow
