Optometric Technician - Willing to Train!

Job Summary

Facilitate patient flow and assist the doctor in preliminary testing using optical equipment such as autorefractors, retinal cameras, and visual field machines. Verify medical and vision insurances while answering inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests. Clean examination equipment including tonometer tips and perform general office duties as assigned. Maintain a positive, team-oriented environment by effectively communicating with patients, doctors, and managers while complying with company policies and HIPAA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excitement to learn and grow
  • Favorable result on Background Check
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
  • Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
  • Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to climb
  • Ability to drive
  • Open availability to work any shift within hours Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 8am-1pm
  • Commitment to work hours that meet the needs of the business which may include weekends, schedule changes or an extended schedule

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience
  • Previous ophthalmic experience
