Job Summary
Optometric Technician provides support to the optometrist and enhances the Total Patient Experience. Performs initial testing using ophthalmic equipment to prepare patients for exams, operates instruments such as manual and auto-lensometers, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT, and follows testing scripts. Maintains equipment cleanliness, adheres to HIPAA, supports scheduling and general office duties, collaborates with team, and may require weekend or extended hours. Strong patient-facing communication, courteous professionalism, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
