Job Summary
Greet incoming patients for pretesting, perform blood pressure, NCT, color, stereo, and autoperimetry exams, and advocate for overall health evaluations like Optomap. Collect and relay pertinent health and ocular history to the doctor while managing administrative duties such as answering telephones, scheduling appointments per doctor preferences, and transcribing messages for return calls and faxes. Conduct contact lens insertion and removal training, order various contact lenses, and maintain equipment, doctor's lanes, and proper supply levels. Requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Schedule may include after-hour projects, travel between practices, and Saturday availability.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be physically able to read a computer screen for long periods of time
- Must be able to reach
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
- Hand dexterity critical
- Eye and hand coordination critical
- Employee is subject to inside environmental conditions
- Employee's schedule could include after hour projects, as needed
- Travel, as needed between practices
- Saturday availability is required

- Proficiency in utilization of automated equipment and systems standard to the optometry industry
- Experience in the Ophthalmic/Optometric/medical industry
