Job Summary
Optometric Technician I supports optometrists by assisting with patient care from pre-screening to post-exam follow-up, performing diagnostic tests, gathering patient histories, educating patients about vision benefits, guiding contact lens training, handling insurance verification and scheduling, and coordinating appointments to ensure smooth patient flow. The role requires strong communication, organization, multitasking, and documentation skills, with a Saturday 8am–2pm shift and a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in customer service (optometric experience preferred but not required)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Team-oriented with a desire to learn and self-improve
- Detail-focused with accurate documentation of patient exams and procedures
- Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules
