Job Summary

Conduct pre-screening diagnostic tests, gather medical history, and document optometry exams and procedures as directed by the doctor. Educate patients on insurance coverage, contact lens care, and vision benefits while accurately posting charges for fees and products. Coordinate patient scheduling, monitor office flow, and communicate delays to ensure seamless care. Obtain insurance authorizations and verify benefits under the guidance of the optometrist or location manager. Maintain excellent customer service and communication skills to support the team in delivering a flawless patient experience.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to do basic math
  • Team player with good interpersonal and listening skills
  • Passion for self-improvement and continuing education
  • Must be flexible to accommodate schedule change(s) on short notice to fulfill business needs

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Optometric Technician, preferred but not required
  • Previous experience with electronic medical records, preferred but not required
