Job Summary

Assist the optometrist in patient care and contribute to a flawless patient experience. Responsibilities include pre-screening patients and administering diagnostic tests, gathering medical history, communicating with doctors and patients, answering calls and scheduling, educating patients on insurance and vision benefits, training on contact lens use, obtaining insurance authorizations, posting exam-related charges, supporting team goals, documenting exams and procedures, listing diagnoses and follow-up instructions, coordinating patient scheduling, and monitoring patient flow. Requires 2+ years of Optometric Technician experience, high school diploma or equivalent, excellent communication, strong multitasking and organizational skills, basic math ability, EMR experience, and a flexible schedule. CPO/CPOA preferred. In-person, full-time role based in Belmont, NC.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience as an Optometric Technician
  • CPO & CPOA preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to do basic math
  • Team player with good interpersonal and listening skills
  • Passion for self-improvement and continuing education
  • Must be flexible to accommodate schedule changes on short notice
  • Previous experience with electronic medical records
