Job Summary
Assist the optometrist in patient care and contribute to a flawless patient experience. Pre-screen patients, administer diagnostic tests, gather medical history, communicate with doctors and staff, answer calls, greet and schedule patients, educate on insurance coverage and vision benefits, train patients on contact lens use, obtain insurance authorizations, post charges, document exams and procedures, coordinate patient scheduling, monitor patient flow, and support the team to achieve goals. Requires excellent customer service, 1+ years of experience (preferred), high school diploma or equivalent, strong verbal/written communication, multitasking, time management, organization, problem-solving, attention to detail, basic math, and flexibility for schedule changes. Prior experience with electronic medical records is preferred but not required.
