Job Summary
Welcome patients, obtain and document medical and ocular histories, and measure visual acuity and intraocular pressure. Conduct diagnostic testing, administer eye drops per protocol, and educate patients on vision status and treatment plans. Accurately document findings in the electronic medical record, schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and assist with insurance verification and billing support. Maintain examination room cleanliness, manage clinical supply inventory, and ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must wear all the protective equipment required by the department
- Must follow all company policies and procedures including departmental safety policies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with patient intake, insurance verification, and healthcare scheduling
- Experience with revenue cycle functions (eligibility, copays, basic authorizations, and patient collections)
- Experience working with individuals who are blind or visually impaired
- Basic familiarity with office technology (e.g., computers, phone systems)
- Experience with EMR systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Experience with healthcare processes
