Job Summary
Optometric Technician who supports ophthalmologists/optometrists by facilitating patient flow and performing preliminary testing with ophthalmic equipment (e.g., lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, OCT). Responsibilities include assisting doctors, verifying insurances, coordinating patient inquiries (phone, email, in-person), and adhering to HIPAA policies. Requires strong customer service, basic computer skills, and willingness to learn; travel to other site locations may be necessary. Education: High School Diploma or GED; associates/bachelor’s in Business Administration or Healthcare Management preferred. Prior medical office experience and background check clearance are preferred. Hours: Full Time with availability to work within the stated office hours, potentially including weekends. Proactive in maintaining a professional, patient-focused environment and supporting the Total Patient Experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Management preferred
- Previous medical office experience preferred; previous optometric experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
