Job Summary
Optometric Technician at Wellington, KS; assists optometrist with preliminary testing and manages patient flow, insurance verification, and communication with patients, doctors, and managers. Operates ophthalmic equipment (lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT) and adheres to HIPAA and company policies. Tasks include testing setup, following scripting for equipment, equipment cleaning, and providing a Total Patient Experience. Requires high school diploma or GED; associates or bachelor's degree preferred; 1+ year in roles interacting with customers/patients or equivalent experience; travel to other site locations may be necessary. Full-time position with varied shifts; weekend availability and potential schedule changes. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; strong communication and organizational skills; professional appearance and positive attitude; background check required.
